About Bruce Hymanson, PT, Creator of the Bodyblade®

The Bodyblade® was invented by California physical therapist, Bruce Hymanson. Hymanson sought to create an exercise system that would train the muscles of the spine and extremities automatically and consistently for all people.

Hymanson has taken this efficient yet effective training system and incorporated it into movements and exercises that address and benefit the entire muscular system of every body.

Hymanson has been practicing physical therapy since 1977. Together with his wife, Hymanson works mainly with patients who have suffered trauma to the spine and extremities.

His speciality lies in working with the neuromuscular system as a whole. The combination of orthopaedics, head injury, spinal cord and stroke rehabilitation patients led him to create Bodyblade.

Hymanson is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and its private-practice and orthopaedic sections. Hymanson also spent many years teaching and lecturing at North Ridge Hospital to physical therapy students attending UCLA and USC.

Hymanson received his Bachelor of Arts in physical education in 1973 and his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1977 from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
